The FATA chain is a link (1) and (2) that is connected by pins. The pin is designed in such a way that the chain can be eas­ily assembled or dismantled manually without the use of tools. However, should there be any slackening, it is impossible for the chain to come apart. The components are forged. The portion of the pin in contact with the link is broached. The links are constructed in high fatigue limit, hardened and tempered steel. The load trolleys are driven by the chain by means of pusher dogs spaced according to the operational requirements of the conveyor.

PUSHER UNIT

This consists of a pusher link (1) appropriately joined to a couple of inner links which are supported by chain trolleys. The pusher link is of tempered steel and the areas in contact with the chain pin are broached (3). The profile of the pusher dog is designed to give maximum secu­rity of engagement with the load trolley and ease of disengage­ment during accumulation of loads (between carriers). 

The chain pins on either side of the pusher link are of a spe­cial type to facilitate easy fitting and removal of the pusher unit. These pins are manufactured to the same material speci­fications as standard pins.
